A Message from E.L.M. Retreats:

"We know that sometimes life happens or simply gets in the way—unforeseen illnesses, family emergencies, or unexpected work conflicts can arise. Because we want to help you protect your investment, we strongly suggest securing trip insurance or event protection. In fact, some of our own leadership team secures policies for their staffing expenses for this very reason!"

Our Shared Commitment:

"To ensure the excellence of your experience, e.l.m. retreats makes guaranteed, non-refundable Provision payments to the retreat center well in advance for your lodging and meals. Because of this partnership with our venue, all registration fees and deposits are strictly non-refundable."

Travel & Event Protection Resources:

"While e.l.m. retreats does not sell insurance or represent insurance companies, we know there are various options to be found through independent research (using tools like Google, Safari, or DuckDuckGo) to help you find the best fit for your needs. We encourage you to explore these few examples from our research as well as others you may find:"

• Standard Trip Insurance: Providers like Allianz Global Assistance (1-866-884-3556), Travelex, Travel Guard, or Berkshire Hathaway.

  • Note: Allianz offers both Trip Insurance (for travel) and Event Ticket Protector (for admission fees). They are separate products within the same group.

• The 10-14 Day "Clock": To be fully protected, especially for 'Cancel for Any Reason' (CFAR) policies, most companies require purchase within 10-14 days of your initial deposit.

• The Mileage Rule: Many standard trip policies require travel of 100+ miles from home. If you are traveling from a closer distance (from you home to the retreat center), check for 'Short Getaway' plans or providers like Travel Insured International, known for a 50-mile minimum.

• Credit Card Protection: We strongly encourage you to check with the credit card company you use today. Many premium cards provide built-in trip cancellation protection for medical emergencies or a death in the family regardless of distance.

• Friend-to-Friend Transfer: If you cannot attend, you may transfer your spot to a friend. You must notify e.l.m. retreats at elizabeth@elmretreats.com and receive return email confirmation before you substitute another person so we can update our safety, payment and registration records.
